Youth In Action’s “Week of Giving”

During the month of December, Lincoln Heights’ Youth In Action Club organized our 4th annual “Week of Giving.” During the week of Dec. 9 – 13th, students and their families collected a wide variety of items needed to fill 15 brand-new backpacks. Each class took part in the donation drive and brought in items ranging from personal care products, to hats, mittens, and scarves, to toys for children. The backpacks were then donated to local crisis shelters for women and families. Once again, Lincoln Heights’ Huskies showed their endless enthusiasm and generosity as they worked together to care for others in our community. Well done, Huskies.

Joyeux Carnaval

On Friday February 7th and Monday February 10th, Lincoln Heights was  proud to host its very first Carnaval d’Hiver! Under the leadership of our 2 French teachers, students were treated to an afternoon of outdoor activities, ranging from “La Course en Canot” to “La Glissade de Glace,” among many other events. Two of the hightlights of this celebration of French Canadian culture were making the famous treat “tire d’érable” (maple taffy rolled in the snow) and a very special visit from the official mascot of Quebec’s annual Carnaval, “Bonhomme!”

Merci à tous pour un Carnaval extraordinaire!
