Youth in Action is in full swing already. They are planning an upcoming food drive…. the information is as follows:
As part of our Youth In Action “We Schools” mission, Lincoln Heights will be holding a Food Drive, starting on Wednesday, October 9 which will continue until Friday October 17, 2014. Our goal is to collect 1000 items for families in need in our community. Each class will have its own Food Drive Box where your child may deposit any contributions you are able to make. We will be posting our daily totals in the front hall on a giant “foodometer” so that all students can see the difference their individual contributions can make toward achieving a common goal.
Any non-perishable items will be gladly accepted. The Food Bank of Waterloo Region has suggested that the following items are most greatly needed: canned meat and fish; peanut butter; beans in sauce; rice; cold cereal; canned fruit; macaroni and cheese; canned stew and chilli; canned vegetables and fruit and vegetable juice. However, all items will be gladly accepted.
Thank you for your participation in this important community project.
